Illustrations

I bought some new pens the other day and did two drawings. I love drawing. I think I might want to work as a part-time freelance illustrator and part time at a design firm. We'll see. Anyway, the scanner was really bad, so forgive the bad quality.

Similarity of logos

I just was introduced to the Peabody Essex Museum and the first thing that struck me was the similarity of these two logos. Interesting.

Lovely::lovely

I recently discovered this website that is a collaboration of two artists and it seems that their styles really mesh well together. I like how their designs flow into different products. I want to learn how to do that better, because once you've got a good design, you want to use it as much as possible and learning how to market your design as a product seems to be a very effective way of doing that.

Grandmother's House

There is something about a grandmothers house that is familiar and comforting. Something that you normally take for granted. On a recent trip to see my grandmother, I took out my camera and attempted to capture the little things that make up the house. Of course, not everything can be captured visually, but this is what I saw.

I was attempting a very straight on, no frills look with all of these. I'd love your feedback and suggestions.

Journal Drawings

I just scanned in some drawings from my little pocket moleskine. I colored them in Photoshop and had quite a bit of fun doing it. I was listening to a lecture about money while I drew them. Plus, I had the lyrics to the Sufjan Steven's song "size too small" stuck in my head, so I kind of illustrated them to go along with those two things. Anyway, here they are.

Need vs. Want

Here are some cool poster type designs that I really liked. Thought I'd share them.

the life beyond

I am finished with my university education and come Saturday It'll be official. It'll be very weird to not be in school anymore. It's all I've known for pretty much my whole life. I've had summers off, but even that was different with the knowledge that I would be returning to school in the fall. Now, I will be an Independent Adult making decisions about where to live, what jobs to take and what kind of insurance I want to get. The road is looming and a bit ominous. But for the summer I have plans and I know God always provides. In the meantime, I plan to enjoy the journey.
