1) The buses don't always travel on main roads so you get to see a lot of beautiful scenery.
2) The people who travel Greyhound are very diverse: poor, multi-ethnic groups, young, very old, middle-aged, etc. I found most bus travelers to be very generous and open. They are pretty much everything but high-brow snobs. So, if you are looking to meet some characters this is the transportation choice for you!
3) You don't get anywhere fast with Greyhound so if you are looking for a leisurely trip with time to put your thoughts together choose the bus.
